Rule 101 - Membership Fee Payment Requirements
To be eligible to bowl in a USBC league, a bowler must:
- Complete an individual membership application in each league the bowler participates in.
- Pay or show proof of payment ofUSBC dues and the required association membership fees in effect for the current seasonbefore:
- Adult membership: Completion of the bowler's first series.
- Youth membership: The bowler's third session of competition.
Any team using a player who has not paid appropriate membership dues subjects the games in which the bowler participated to forfeiture.

102e, Item 9, Duties of the Secretary
Requires final averages to be submitted to the local association within 15 days of the completion of the league.

General Playing Rules
Rule 18, Bowling Ball - Altering Surface
Bowling balls cannot be cleaned with liquid substances or cleaning agents or have any foreign materials on the ball including but notlimited to powder, rosin, marker or paint.
Changes effective August 1, 2020
The specification eliminating the use of balance holes still will go into effect Aug. 1, 2020.
Bowlers still can have a bowling ball with a balance hole until Aug. 1, 2020, but any balls with a balance hole must stay within the current static weight specification of one ounce for finger, thumb or side weight, and three ounces for top or bottom weight.
